Professions in Forever: changes, recipes and campsites

All nine primary and three secondary professions: new recipes, First Aid healing potions, campsite benefits, workstations and practical profession pairings. Checked 7 November 2026.

Your professions in Forever

FOREVER · CHECKED 7 NOVEMBER 2026

Professions are part of the journey: equipment, supplies, new materials and shared campsites work together. This guide covers all nine primary professions and the three shared secondary professions, with verified Forever changes and practical starting ideas.

You can learn two primary professions plus Cooking, Fishing and First Aid. The familiar profession names remain, while recipes and uses have expanded. Blizzard describes more than 600 new recipes across professions and level ranges.

Profession profiles link specific items and spells. Some new German item names are fan translations; English names help you search. Pairing and playstyle recommendations are our editorial guidance.

The main changes at a glance

  • Supplies reassigned: the standard healing-potion line now belongs to First Aid. Alchemy still covers mana potions, elixirs and special potions.
  • Campsites: professions contribute buffs, vendors and useful objects for shared breaks.
  • Workstations: certain recipes require a Tanning Rack or another appropriate facility beside a campfire.
  • More cooperation: new intermediate materials made by one profession feed recipes in others.
  • Discover recipes while adventuring: advanced blueprints can come from dungeons and raids. A database recipe list alone does not establish a trainer or acquisition route.

Campsites, buffs and profession features

Cooking provides campfires; other professions add their features. A basic campfire supports three additional objects, upgraded fires support five or ten. Each player can contribute one object.

  1. Choose somewhere suitable for a quiet preparation break.
  2. Place a campfire and agree which features your group needs.
  3. Sit nearby or craft at the camp. After at least one minute you can receive the relevant profession benefits.
  4. Check your buffs, then continue together.

Keep the timers separate: the campfire itself has a 5 min cooldown. Additional profession features share a one-hour cooldown. Normal campsite buffs last one hour; special effects can modify this. A long-lived buff does not mean its placed object remains for the same duration: the camping data lists placed objects with a 15 min lifetime.

Many campsite buffs are alternatives to corresponding class buffs and do not stack with them. Choose supplies that complement what your group wants to add.

Gathering: more than materials

Gather materials, contribute on the road and supply trading partners: all three gathering professions have their own camp features.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Herbalism

Gather herbs and use new gardening features at camp.

Gathering gains its own camp line: Incense Candle for Intellect, Greenhouse for planting seeds and Seed Hybridizer for multiplying or combining seeds.

The Greenhouse and Hybridizer also provide the Candle’s benefit. The checked sources do not yet fully resolve seed-to-yield relationships.

Putting the profession to work

Gather while questing for specific potions or trading partners. The Candle supplies Intellect when your group needs that buff. Alchemy is a natural material pairing, while herbs also feed other supply chains.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Mining

Ore, stone and new metal processing for crafting and camping.

Your basic camp contribution is a Lodestone, supporting melee Attack Power. A Rock Garden grows a common mining node over time; the Molten Foundry is a new workstation.

A concrete new recipe, Smelt Heavy Thorium, requires a Molten Foundry. Smelt Azerothium processes Pitchblende and Coal into Azerothium Bars.

Putting the profession to work

Mining supplies Blacksmithing or Engineering. Check the required station before processing new ore. Without confirmed yield data, do not build a fixed daily output or specific ore type into your Rock Garden plan.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Skinning

Collect leather and hides and prepare your group at camp.

The Camp Chair provides critical strike chance for attacks and spells. A Field Guide adds Beast tracking. The Trapper’s Workbench contains a trap and retains the Chair’s basic benefit.

The checked files do not fully establish which trap is supplied or its detailed use. This does not establish extra Hunter abilities for other classes.

Putting the profession to work

Combine suitable Beast quests with skinning and supply a Leatherworker. The Field Guide helps locate appropriate targets, while the Chair adds a verified combat benefit to group preparation.

Crafting: new recipes and tools

Crafting supports more than your own character. New intermediate materials and workstations give cooperation and trade between professions more weight.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Alchemy

Mana potions, elixirs, special potions and chemical intermediates.

The standard healing-potion line is now in First Aid. Alchemy retains mana potions, elixirs and special recovery recipes. The new Mender’s Potion temporarily strengthens healing spells rather than directly restoring your health.

Sulfuric Acid is made from Pyrite and an Empty Vial and supplies other crafts. Dyes also matter: Cerulean Dye feeds textiles and devices.

Camp features range from a Mana Well to a Fermenter and Alchemy Laboratory. The Fermenter is used for specific intermediates. Check individual recipes for Laboratory requirements; the current mapping is incomplete.

Putting the profession to work

Prepare supplies for a specific use: mana, a suitable temporary bonus or an intermediate requested by a trading partner. Herbalism supplies many ingredients; chemical recipes may also need Mining materials.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Blacksmithing

Metal gear, weapons and tools with new role-oriented recipes.

New early self-crafted gear illustrates the expanded recipe range: Gemmed Copper Boots are Mail boots for character level 10. Acolyte’s Gloves are level-15 Mail gloves with healing-spell stats. Both examples bind on pickup.

The gloves combine metal and stone with Alchemy acid and Enchanting dust. At camp, a Sharpening Wheel supplies Strength; an Anvil and Master Forge provide relevant workstations while retaining the basic benefit.

Putting the profession to work

Choose a specific usable target item and check armor proficiency, binding and ingredients. Mining is a natural material partner. Coordinate with other crafters for missing chemical or magical intermediates.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Enchanting

Improve equipment and process new magical intermediates.

Dust to Motes converts one Strange Dust into three Motes of Magic. The current Runed Copper Rod recipe uses a Copper Rod and a Mote of Magic, so old beginner shopping lists do not automatically apply.

A new example is Enchant Necklace – Spell Power, which also uses dyes. Camp features include an Enchanted Lute, an Arcane Salvager for more efficient disenchanting and an Arcane Forge for recipes that require it.

Putting the profession to work

Plan improvements for gear you actually use. Organize materials through suitable loot, trade and crafting partners. No specific extra yield is confirmed for the Salvager, so do not assume a fixed material bonus.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Engineering

Devices, explosives and field services for planned plays.

The new SAF-T Copper Bomb combines area damage with a brief stun that breaks on damage. Its intermediate ingredients include cloth products and Alchemy dyes.

Another example is the 9-60 Battery Pack: it restores three charges to a Manual Crowd Pummeler you possess. This is a recharge for that specific item.

At camp, a Reagent Bot, Repair Bot and Anarchist’s Workbench provide different services. The Workbench is a crafting station; additional vendor or repair services are not confirmed for it.

Putting the profession to work

Choose a device that supports a specific play and check range, effect, cooldown and use requirements. Mining supplies many base materials. Planned control and positioning are useful PvP applications. Choose devices that suit your playstyle.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Leatherworking

Leather, Mail and armor kits with new material chains.

New recipes include Brawler’s Leather Armor and the Forceful Medium Armor Kit. The armor is a bind-on-pickup Leather chest for level 15. The kit combines a Medium Armor Kit with Strange Dust and Elixirs of Minor Strength.

Camp features include a Camp Tent, Tanning Rack and Sewing Machine. The two stations serve relevant recipes. The Sewing Machine belongs to Leatherworking; Tailoring has its own facilities.

Current requirement: the 6 November hotfix sets Tanning Rack skill at 125, down from 140.

Putting the profession to work

Skinning is a natural material partner. Before a larger crafting project, check the workstation and obtain missing elixirs or enchanting materials from partners. The Tent prepares rested experience rather than providing a permanent XP multiplier.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Tailoring

Cloth equipment, bags and new dye dependencies.

The Linen Reagent Bag is a new bag example. The Filigreed Flame Gown is a bind-on-pickup Cloth chest for level 15 with Fire spell damage. It uses Alchemy dye and Fire Oil among its ingredients.

The camp line starts with a Faction Banner, granting Spirit to your own faction. A Spinning Wheel and Loom add workstations for recipes requiring them.

Putting the profession to work

Cloth loot and trade supply many inputs without requiring a specific gathering profession. Plan a garment or bag and coordinate needed dyes. Enchanting can complement your material and equipment plans as a second profession.

Secondary professions: Cooking, Fishing and First Aid

Cooking, Fishing and First Aid can all be learned alongside your two primary professions. Their expanded roles make them worth considering while leveling.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Cooking

Updated food, drinks and the foundation of every camp.

Familiar names have new buffs: Spiced Wolf Meat grants Agility after eating long enough. Brilliant Smallfish grants Attack Power. Peace Tea combines water and Peacebloom into a drink with a healing-spell bonus.

Blizzard also describes small experience bonuses from appropriate crafted food. The checked tooltips do not confirm a universal current percentage for every food.

Cooking makes the three campfire sizes, Cookie’s Feast and the Iron Oven. The Oven is a workstation for recipes that explicitly require it.

Putting the profession to work

Choose food by its current buff rather than its familiar name. Fishing supplies ingredients for suitable recipes. Before group play, pack food suited to your role and plans.

PROFESSION FOCUS

Fishing

Cooking ingredients and camp features with expanded fishing access.

A Fish Bowl grants 8% increased stats at camp and is an alternative to Blessing of Kings. A Fishing Rack enables catching uncommon fish for one hour and supplies lures. A Fishing Hut enables catching rare fish for one hour and also supplies lures.

The Rack and Hut retain the Bowl’s basic benefit. Exact species and catch chances are not yet fully recorded in the checked data.

Putting the profession to work

Use Fishing as a supply loop: catch suitable fish, cook a desired meal and add the relevant fishing feature to your camp. The new camp objects describe added opportunities rather than the complete list of catchable fish.

PROFESSION FOCUS

First Aid

Bandages, standard healing potions and new curatives.

First Aid now crafts the standard healing-potion line. A Minor Healing Potion is a concrete example; its current recipe uses an Empty Vial, Mild Spices and Peacebloom.

New curatives expand the range: a Simple Poultice removes appropriate diseases up to level 25 and can only be used outside combat.

Camp features include a First Aid Kit, Toxin Study and Plague Doctor’s Laboratory. The upgraded objects supply relevant healing potions or remedies and retain the Kit’s Stamina benefit.

Putting the profession to work

Alongside bandages, check healing-potion and curative supplies before setting out. Separate combat supplies from remedies for a safe break. Because First Aid does not take a primary-profession slot, it complements many crafting plans.

Understanding recipes, blueprints and workstations

For a new recipe, check acquisition, profession skill, materials, workstation and use requirements in order. This matters especially when an old Classic shopping list comes to mind.

Recipe or blueprint→Materials→Suitable station→Craft & use

Learning a crafting formula does not automatically provide its workstation. Coordinate which campsite feature each player contributes. A blueprint may have its own acquisition source; where the finished item comes from and where its recipe comes from are different questions.

Read skill numbers carefully: profession skill and character level are separate requirements. A pair of numbers in a database recipe list can describe yellow and gray skill thresholds. They do not automatically establish the skill at which a trainer teaches the recipe.

Explanation of yellow and gray recipe thresholds

Profession pairings for your goals

These pairings are starting ideas for different goals. All can be supplemented with Cooking, Fishing and First Aid. Choose for your plans and your group’s supply arrangements.

PvE and group sessions

Coordinate food, mana supplies, healing potions and required workstations in advance. Existing class buffs affect which camp benefits add useful coverage. A role can draw on different professions; the specific target recipe matters.

PvP and preparation

Start by checking device and consumable effects and use requirements. Planned supplies and a suitable tool for a specific play are useful profession goals. Prepare campsites where an uninterrupted break is possible.

A plan for your first profession levels

  1. Choose an initial goal: self-supply, crafted equipment, materials trading or useful devices.
  2. Visit the relevant trainers. City guards can help you find them. The Professions window, K, shows recipes and material needs.
  3. Consider all three secondary professions. Food, Fishing and expanded First Aid support different preparations.
  4. Check your first camp contribution. Early profession features become available through introductory quests or trainers; Blizzard gives profession skill 20 as the entry point.
  5. Craft for a specific use. A useful piece of gear, suitable supplies or a required intermediate material is a manageable first project.
  6. Plan before shopping again. Check the current tooltip and recipe rather than copying old quantities without review.

A small, working supply plan can be more helpful while leveling than a complete endgame shopping list. Sale value depends on the actual market; this guide does not promise fixed profits.

Legacy as a supplement

Legacy perks can support profession play with extra cooking results, additional fish or longer food and campsite benefits. These are selected unlocks rather than automatic baseline bonuses for every profession.

Check your actual point allocation before budgeting extra results or altered cooldowns.

Current hotfixes and evidence date

  • 6 November — Leatherworking: Tanning Rack requires profession skill 125 instead of 140. Its skill-up thresholds were also reduced by 15. Older database views may still show previous values.
  • 5 November — supplies: The vendor sell value of Mild Spices was reduced from 2 copper to 1.

Recipe examples were checked against current Forever game-file data, mostly build 1.60.1.70862. Not every acquisition source is documented there. Dated hotfixes take precedence over older caches; this guide does not supply unverified vendor coordinates or drop chances.
