What is Merchant’s Favor?
Merchant’s Favor is the profession currency used by the trade organizations. It connects shipment crates with recipe purchases. Some rewards also need reputation; currency and reputation come from different activities.
Current reports describe the balance as character-specific. Make deliveries on the character who will learn the recipe. New German labels in this guide are working translations; English names help with searching.

Separate currency from reputation
| Activity | You deliver | You receive |
|---|---|---|
| Sealed shipment crate | A crate filled with one accepted material bundle | Merchant’s Favor and silver; routine crates do not grant reputation |
| Shipping Label — first introduction | One-time introductory quest | Reported: 50 Favor and 2,000 reputation, once per character |
| Craftsman’s Writ | The requested finished goods | Reputation and a Coin Pouch; no Merchant’s Favor |
| Forged Delivery Receipt | 15 Favor for the receipt and an empty crate | 50 reputation when returning the notarized container; this spends Favor |

Fill shipment crates correctly
- Find an empty crate: look for Waylaid Crates in world loot or chests, or check tradable empty crates at the Auction House. Standard Apprentice and Journeyman crates are used from character level 10.
- Choose one alternative: read the materials accepted by that particular crate. One listed bundle is enough; the lines are not cumulative.
- Prepare supplies: gather, craft or buy exactly the requested amount. Keep the full bundle in your inventory for filling, preferably in one stack.
- Fill and seal: use the crate and select the appropriate goods. Sealing binds it to your character.
- Deliver to your camp: visit Marcy Baker or Dokimi. If a Shipping Label appears when sealing your first crate, complete that separate introduction too.
Textiles example: Apprentice Textiles accepts 40 Linen Cloth or 20 Light Leather. These are alternatives. Choosing leather does not also require 40 Linen Cloth.
Waylaid Crate: Apprentice Textiles
Apprentice Herbs alternatively accepts 20 Peacebloom, 20 Silverleaf, 10 Earthroot, 10 Mageroyal or 10 Briarthorn. Here too, one listed bundle fills the crate.
Waylaid Crate: Apprentice Herbs
Textiles, Ore, Herbs and Curiosities use basic materials. Fabrics, Ingots and Parts use processed goods. Check higher-tier crate subtypes carefully: not all herb options belong to the same crate.

How much Favor does a crate give?
Published tables report 5 Favor for Apprentice raw-material crates or 10 for processed goods, and 10 or 20 respectively for Journeyman crates. The source explicitly identifies these values as beta reports. Check the current turn-in dialog before calculating a fixed farming quantity. No guaranteed Expert or Artisan payout is given here.

Use writs for reputation
- Open a Sealed Writ to receive a random order of its tier.
- Accept the quest and read the finished item, quantity and delivery customer.
- Craft the goods or trade for the correct finished product. Delivery is possible without the matching crafting profession.
- Keep the writ in your bags and deliver to the named customer. Check any displayed timer and the travel route first.
An individual order is classified as a daily quest; different orders can be completed on the same day. Current reports list 75 reputation for Journeyman, 125 for Expert and 200 for Artisan writs. The direct examples below corroborate 75 and 200. The Coin Pouch is a money reward, not Merchant’s Favor.

New recipes and their vendors
Choose the vendor for your profession at your faction’s trade camp. “Learn” values below are separately reported learning requirements of the recipe item; they were not calculated from yellow/gray thresholds. Reputation refers to your faction’s trade organization.
Recipe goals at the trade vendors: the following prices and requirements come from the linked vendor reports, accessed 7 November 2026. Check in-game stock before traveling; the price buys the recipe, not its crafting materials.

Legacy bonus and purchase plan
The Professions Legacy talent Performance Bonus has three ranks: a 5%, 10% or 15% chance to double Merchant’s Favor from a crate turn-in. A proc doubles that delivery; it is not guaranteed for every crate. Current talent data shows five points already spent in Professions and Bountiful Harvest as prerequisites. Check actual access in game.
Performance Bonus — current talent data
- Choose a recipe goal first and inspect its skill and reputation requirements at the vendor.
- Compare the cost of one accepted material bundle for each crate. Materials you gathered also have a resale value.
- Group writ deliveries by destination after checking the actual customers.
- A receipt exchanges Favor and an empty crate for reputation. Budget that separately from earning currency.
Example: you want a 45-Favor recipe and have already received 50 from the introductory quest. That covers the currency price; still check profession skill and reputation. You then need all ingredients for every crafting batch.
