Your profession in Forever
Fishing is an additional secondary profession for every class. Your catches supply Cooking and some camp recipes. Forever adds Fish Bowl, Fishing Rack and Fishing Hut. The three database recipes describe these features, not every possible catch.
Build skill step by step
Secure your first catches
Learn Fishing, obtain a suitable pole and start in accessible water. If too many fish escape, use a lure or easier water. Keep Raw Brilliant Smallfish for Cooking and the Fish Bowl.
Connect fishing and cooking
Check the next available profession rank. Sort catches for learned Cooking recipes rather than immediately selling everything. Skill grows through successful fishing, not an assumed fixed catch count per point.
Check rank access and recipe goals
If you reach your rank cap, check the appropriate rank unlock: a better lure does not permanently replace a missing rank. Target catches for recipe ingredients; a Fishing Rack needs two Raw Mithril Head Trout.
Prepare advanced fishing
Check further rank unlocks in the current game. A Fishing Rack enables uncommon fish, a Fishing Hut rare fish and provides lures. Without confirmed catch tables, no particular rare species or catch rate is guaranteed.
- Check trainer and rank: learn the profession and the next available rank. Your Professions window, K, shows what your character actually knows.
- Set a small skill target: choose a learned orange or yellow recipe you need yourself or can use as an intermediate. Green is less reliable; gray recipes grant no skill points.
- Craft in small batches: after each batch, check recipe color, supplies and your next useful alternative.
- Buy new recipes with a purpose: check acquisition, learning requirements and materials first. Spending Merchant’s Favor on a recipe does not supply its ingredients.
Stages are editorial work plans. They do not establish a guaranteed 1–300 shopping list: recipe colors, learned recipes and random skill gains determine your actual quantities.
Materials and sources
Catch fish in suitable water or buy from anglers. Wood and vials come from suitable supplier stock. Have a tailor turn Runecloth into bolts; Seasonal Fish Steaks are a processed ingredient, not any raw fish.
Recipes and material planner
These projects show exact ingredients per crafting batch. Change the batch count to scale the materials. One craft does not automatically grant one skill point.

Your next project
Example: reserve one Raw Brilliant Smallfish for a Fish Bowl and cook the rest only after learning a suitable recipe. This keeps you from accidentally consuming your next camp project’s ingredient.
Using the evidence
Checked 7 November 2026. Recipe data mainly uses build 1.60.1.70862; individual sightings may come from older Forever builds. Yellow/gray numbers are database difficulty thresholds, not learning requirements. Recipe acquisition and ingredient sourcing are listed separately. Some German names are fan translations; English names remain available for searching.
Sources & context
Profession recipes and ingredients checked against linked Forever game data. Vendor inventories, prices and some learning sources additionally use linked observational reports. Skill plans are editorial guidance; unresolved acquisition is identified beside the recipe. Some German names are fan translations. No independent live purchases or gameplay tests.
