01 / GAME PLAN
How to win
Captured bases generate resources. The classic target is 2,000; controlling more bases speeds up progress. The five nodes are Stables, Blacksmith, Lumber Mill, Gold Mine and Farm. An assaulted banner is not yet a securely held base.
¹ 2,000 is the documented Classic target. These official sources do not establish a different Forever cap. Follow the current in-game display.

02 / GAME PLAN
Map & orientation
Alliance begins near Stables in the northwest; Horde near Farm in the southeast. Blacksmith is central, with Lumber Mill and Gold Mine as side objectives. Elevation affects visibility and reinforcement routes. Plan rotations around the real path, not straight-line distance.

- Stables / ST
- Near the Alliance start. Even a home node needs a visible defender.
- Farm / Farm
- Near the Horde start. Call enemies turning toward it from midfield.
- Blacksmith / BS
- A central reinforcement point. Not every rotation has to pass through a losing central fight.
- Lumber Mill / LM
- High ground: watch approaches and avoid unnecessary edge fights.
- Gold Mine / GM
- Lower ground. Call attacks early so help can cover the route in time.
03 / GAME PLAN
From opening to finish
Our suggested opening plan: adapt it to the enemy and your team.
Assign responsibilities
Secure the home node with a named defender. Send the remaining team to agreed objectives rather than probing all five with tiny groups. Name a flexible reinforcement group.
Connect defensible bases
Our starting plan is a network of three mutually supportable bases. Which three make sense depends on the opening and the enemy. Not every combination is equally easy to defend.
Secure assaulted banners
Remain at the node after assaulting it until control is secure. Watch for returning defenders. Start the next push only when someone has explicitly taken over the guard duty.
Call early and clearly
Call location, count and direction: “Farm, three incoming from BS, one defending.” Call before dying in control effects. Reinforcements respond; guards at other bases initially stay on their objectives.
Read the score
When ahead, preserve your defensible network. When behind, you need extra control early enough; three late captures do not instantly erase a large deficit. Deliberately choose between holding and coordinating another attack.
04 / GAME PLAN
Your role in the team
Guard & reinforcement group
Guards watch the banner and approaches. Their job is to report and delay an attack, not chase a retreating enemy. Reinforcements stay mobile and do not abandon their rotation for the first enemy on the road.
Healers & attackers
A healer can stabilize a node fight but needs to reach a protected position. Attackers create room for the banner interaction together. Control defenders without delaying your capture through needless chasing.
Use the tools of your actual playstyle: control to protect a teammate, healing from a reachable position and damage on a shared target. Forever class changes make rigid class requirements for these jobs inappropriate.
05 / GAME PLAN
Solve common situations
Three bases and a lead
Do not send everyone after a fourth node. Reinforce the likely attack and watch enemy movement. A fourth base is useful when the extra pressure does not expose the ones you already hold.
Two bases and a deficit
Choose a target and gather enough players for a real attempt. A diversion can help when coordinated. Repeated solo runs into the same superior defence waste time while the enemy keeps scoring.
A guard is controlled
The guard immediately calls the threatened capture. Helpers stop the takeover, then stabilize the node. After the save, explicitly assign the new guard or the node will be empty again on the next attack.
Mistakes that cost objectives
Every guard responding to the same call; fighting on roads; riding away immediately after clicking a banner; saying “three nodes always wins” without reading the score. Resources and the remaining gap to victory determine urgency.
06 / GAME PLAN
Queueing & progression
Queue with an appropriate capital battlemaster. Minimum level: 20. The associated reputation factions are League of Arathor (Alliance) and The Defilers (Horde). Check quests and vendor inventories on your current Forever character; old Era price lists are not a reliable Forever shopping list.
Honor and Rank Points are separate parts of Forever progression. Use our general PvP guide for rank unlocks and the reward overview. After each match, also review one learning goal: did you reach the carrier, call help early enough or actually secure the intermediate objective?
